Crios Cords: traditional Irish woven belts

 

There is an interesting article on Crios weaving by Colm Moriarty on the website Irish Archaeology, about the tradition of crios weaving. A crios is a type of traditional handwoven belt, that is quite common in old pictures of men from the Aran Islands. You can read the article here:
